Tileyard and Jo Hart A&R Event
Last night, Tileyard Education arranged an event with Jo Hart, for a public interview and an A&R session at the Gallery. Guests started arriving at 6 pm , and the whole thing
kicked off at around 6:20. The night started off with Jo and Steve (A member of the Tileyard Education team) sitting down together on stage, Steve interviewed Jo about her Radio Plugging career and how she got to where she is today. This Q&A carried on for around an hour, including the public asking questions as well. At 7pm guests with an A&R ticket were asked to come forward with their music, to play to Jo, and she would give her opinion whether she could plug it to Radio. Jo gave some interesting advice such as: artists should not share their best track first, because once you publicise a really good track, you set the bar so high, that you might not be able to top it with your next song; Release your best song further down the line so it appears you’re only getting better, not backtracking. Another bit of advice Jo gave was that artists should have done around 10 live gigs and multiple performances at least, before coming to a radio plugger because it gives them enough experience and confidence. Overall, around 10 artists came to play Jo their music, they all left with good, constructive feedback, all knowing how to improve their next tracks. The evening endewith a group photo with Jo, which can be found on instagram here: https://goo.gl/zT1eGw,  and artists complemented each other’s music and guests chatted to Jo. It was a lovely, buzzing evening, a big Thank you to everyone that attended.
